Traditional Spicy Miso at Home

A simple SOUP STYLE spicy miso made with easy supermarket ingredients, using chopped pork, bean sprouts, corn, and green onions for an authentic yet fast meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Bold Tastes of Tokyo Spicy Miso noodles
  • 1/4 lb chopped shaved pork
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 1/2 stalk green onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp corn
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Directions

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot. Add the noodles, chopped pork, and bean sprouts, then cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Scoop about 1/2 cup of the cooking water into a bowl and mix it with the Bold Tastes of Tokyo Spicy Miso dry seasoning and liquid packet until combined.

Transfer the noodles, chopped pork, and bean sprouts along with the remaining cooking water into the bowl, then top with corn and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Prepare sauce by scooping about 1/3 cup of the cooking water into a bowl and mix it with the Bold Tastes of Tokyo Spicy Miso dry seasoning and liquid packet until well combined.

Drain the remaining water from the pot and transfer the noodles and other ingredients to the sauce bowl and mix. Top with the buttered corn, egg, green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.
